A large rock blocked traffic Thursday morning after falling on the Empire Grade in Boulder Creek, according to the California Highway Patrol and CAL FIRE CZU. Officials said the rock fell on the road near Empire Grade and Jameson Creek Road. CHP was notified of the hazard shortly before 7 a.m., and shortly after 7 a.m., a semi-truck approached the skid and was unable to pass or turn around. The semi-truck was not damaged and collided with the rock.
