State and residents today. All is quiet here in Pottawatomie County after that earthquake. Residents I spoke to remember hearing a crack or explosion, but after a night of thunderstorms, the quake barely bothered them. You can’t really see it, but you can hear it in this video, a 3.5 magnitude earthquake hitting the Pottawatomie County area early Tuesday morning. Many viewers have told me they slept soundly through it. Others didn’t know it happened and only remember the thunderstorms that happened Monday night. The province’s emergency management confirms that there are no earthquake-related injuries. The state corporation commission says there were no active completions near the quake. Its Bureau of Induced Seismology believes this was likely an aftershock associated with stronger tremors in the Prague area, including a 5.1 magnitude FE earthquake.
