The USGS said a magnitude 1.8 earthquake occurred around 6:05 p.m. Friday evening, and was measured to have reached a depth of about 4.2 miles. Later, around 6:22 p.m., a 1.9 magnitude earthquake was reported in the same area at a depth of about one mile. Both earthquakes were reported at Cross Anchor, located about 23 miles southeast of Spartanburg. The US Geological Survey said a 1.8-magnitude earthquake occurred around 6:05 p.m. Friday, and was measured to have reached a depth of about 4.2 miles.

Later, around 6:22 p.m., a 1.9 magnitude earthquake was reported in the same area at a depth of about one mile.

Both earthquakes were reported in Cross Anchor, located about 23 miles southeast of Spartanburg.
