The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating after they say a person was struck and killed by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 70 earlier this week. Swannanoa, which is located near Appalachian Creek Nursery and a Shell gas station. When first responders arrived, they found a man lying in the road with serious injuries. He was taken to the Mission Hospital, where he later died. The victim has been identified as 71-year-old Saeed Muhammad Khoshnoud. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 828-250-4462. At approximately 11 p.m. on Monday, June 8, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, along with Swannanoa Fire, Buncombe EMS and the North Carolina Highway Patrol, responded to what was reported as a pedestrian collision at 1916 US Hwy 70 in Swannanoa, which is located near Appalachian Creek Nursery and a Shell gas station.

When first responders arrived, they found a man lying in the road with serious injuries. He was taken to the Mission Hospital, where he later died. The victim was identified as Saeed Muhammad Khashnoud, 71 years old.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 828-250-4462.
