A submarine with a drone that Russia claims could destroy the United States by triggering an underwater earthquake as the end of nuclear weapons nears

Vladimir Putin’s underwater drone “Poseidon”, which is capable of “destroying America with a nuclear earthquake”, is in the “last test stage”.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced this while promoting its “super weapons” on the country’s Navy Day last month.

Officials said the test of the Belgorod submarine, which will carry and launch the drones, is nearing completion and is awaiting the assembled Poseidon vehicle to test the launch.

The Putin regime first leaked information about the nuclear drone – then called it the “Status-6 Multipurpose Ocean System” – in late 2015.

It can reach a speed of 85 km / h, has an intercontinental range of 10,000 km and carries a 100 megatons warhead, according to Russian media.

Russian Navy Captain Konstantin Sivkov recently said that a Poseidon attack could cause tectonic dislocation and completely devastate the North American subcontinent, according to a Jamestown Foundation report via Gazeta.ru.

City-destroying earthquakes happen when the planet’s tectonic plates come together along fault lines.

“The United States is terrified,” said Captain Sevkov, after Washington called on Moscow to stop developing the Doomsday weapon.

In a 2015 leak, Poseidon was said to have been developed to “destroy the enemy’s economic coastal areas and cause massive, long-term radioactive contamination.”

The Belgorod submarine can carry up to six nuclear drones that can destroy coastal cities by detonating near the coastline, causing massive radiation tsunamis, Russian media reported.

In January of last year, Fox News reported that a former senior adviser to US President Donald Trump admitted there were “real concerns” about Poseidon.

Christian Wheaton, a former senior adviser to the US State Department, said the blast would create a “wave – a highly radioactive wave” but because water would absorb a lot of energy, the wave would be less harmful than exposure to the bomb itself.

Speaking in St. Petersburg on July 26, Putin bragged about the Poseidon missile and Russia’s new hypersonic ground-based nuclear missile.
