Freedom spokesman Scott Lamb originally said CNN Falwell would resign, now the council chairman said they have discussed it with Jerry Falwell and he hopes to be able to make a statement soon. But Falwell denied the allegations, saying the Virginia Business report was “completely false.” Falwell’s confusion over fate comes after several public debates about his behavior. A Miami man is said to have had an eight-year affair with his wife Falwell Jr. after meeting the couple at a Miami hotel. Falwell Jr. acknowledged the affair in a note to CNN. Falwell Jr., 58, when he left school, made a lengthy statement Sunday that he and his family had blackmailed the man, saying he had an “inappropriate personal relationship” with his wife Becki.
