Shooting in Germany: Suspicious video was posted online before the attack – BBC News

The extremist right-wing boy allegedly carried out attacks on two shisha bars in western Germany, killing at least nine people, authorities say.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said there were many indications that the attacker was acting in racism in Hanau.

Federal prosecutors are treating the case as terrorism. Some of those killed were believed to be of Turkish origin.

The 43-year-old suspect has killed himself, according to police. He was found dead in his home, along with his mother’s corpse.

Local media have identified the suspect as Tobias R, a citizen of Germany. The tabloid reported that the tabloid was in possession of a firearms license, and that ammunition and gun magazines were found in the car.

Authorities are investigating a video posted online before the terrorist attacks, which points to right-wing conspiracy theories. Bildu also said he had left a letter of acknowledgment.

The attack is a growing concern about extreme right-wing violence in Germany. Speaking in Berlin, Mrs Merkel said: “Racism is poison. Hate is poison and this poison exists in our society and is already the culprit of many crimes.”
