The owner of a teenage cat was rescued from prison despite the judge’s admission that the only account of the feral cat death was “strange” and “had little meaning”. Three-month-old Earthquake bled in the bathroom and on the balcony of the Alex Low apartment complex in Sydney CBD 19-year-old before it was wrapped in plastic and dumped next to a litter box in the basement in April. An indictment report was filed on Luo’s behalf, showing that he felt remorseful, had a very low chance of returning to crime, had strong family support in China, had a community mentality, the court heard. Mrs. Kennedy said that part of the incident may be due to immaturity, but declined a request to spare the teen being convicted of animal cruelty. “This is very dangerous,” she said, adding that she “flirted” with the prison sentence. Luo would need to complete 150 hours of community service as part of a two-year community reform order.
