Christchurch shootings: live video from gunmen on Facebook – BBC News
Direct video of his shooting by a gunman on Facebook, shot with a head-mounted camera. The footage showed the men, women and children inside the Al-Noor mosque clearly firing.
Police were calling on citizens to “share their concerns” with the network. Facebook said it had removed the gunman’s Facebook and Instagram accounts and was working to remove any copy of the footage.
The suspect was alleged to have released a manifesto explaining his intentions. There, he was a 28-year-old Australian who supported the ideology of extreme rights and immigrants.
Bush’s police commissioner confirmed that the suspect was not previously acquainted with security services in New Zealand and Australia.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called New Zealand “one of the darkest days”. “Clearly this can now only be described as a terrorist attack,” he said.
