A late Ki Camara goal gives Colorado Rapids a draw with San Jose Earthquakes

Ki Camara headed home from a corner kick in the 81st minute and Colorado Rapids scored a 1-1 draw on the road on Saturday against San Jose Earthquakes.

Chris Wondolowski scored from the penalty spot in the 59th minute as Earthquakes earned their first point since resumption of MLS play after the MLS Championship resumed. It was San Jose’s first home game since March 7, before the season was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wondolovsky, the all-time leading goal-scorer in the MLS, scored the goals for the 162nd time in his career. It was his third goal of the season on his debut in 2020, and his seventh game of the season.

San Jose won the penalty after summoning Rapids’ handball defender Sam Vines in the penalty area.

Camara’s goal, from a corner kick in front of Earthquakes by Cole Bassett, was his third goal of the season and the 129th goal in his 14-year career in the MLS. Colorado scored its second in a row and third in four games since the Major League Soccer comeback.

San Jose keeper Daniel Vega made six saves, while Rapids goalkeeper William Yarbrough made a single save. Colorado extended its zero-win streak to six games

Rapids won their first two games of the season, but since the NFL resumed near Orlando they are 0-3-3, including a 0-2-1 mark in the MLS Back tournament.
