Malaria and COVID-19: Country Perspectives
The recent halt to global progress on malaria has been further strengthened by COVID-19. How can countries safely maintain basic malaria services during a pandemic? What actions are needed now to provide a strong foothold for future success in tackling malaria and other urgent health challenges?
Two virtual forums on 3-4. September, hosted by WHO and the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, took into account the current situation in malaria-affected countries and COVID-19, including successes, points, best practices and lessons learned. On the first day, participants heard from experts from the country about the amazing work done on maintaining critical malaria services. Their shared knowledge was the basis of Day 2 discussions with national and global health leaders.
