California wildfires are burning as fires spread – BBC News

California fires have burned a record number of acres this year, while firefighters continue to fight several large fires across the state. Cal Fire’s state forestry and fire department says more than two million acres have been burned, more than the size of Delaware. Officials say a fire, El Dorado, spread over more than 7,000 acres, was caused by a gender-exposed party. California is experiencing a record heat wave today. Los Angeles County reported a high temperature of 49.4 C on Sunday.
