The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) has reported that seismic activity at the volcano has been steadily declining for several months, following the earthquake sequence that began on June 15. This earthquake sequence was concentrated within an area about 6 miles (10 km) east of the summit at a depth of about 5 miles (8 km). Current observations indicate that seismic activity is returning to background levels, so the Aviation Color Code and Volcano Alert Level are reduced to green / normal.
