Russian President Vladimir Putin has delayed a vote on a constitutional amendment that would allow him to continue in power, as coronaviruses were concerned.

According to him, a public vote (to be held on April 22) would be delayed “later”.

Among the proposed changes, Mr. Putin is banning his resignation.

The changes have already been approved by the parliament and the Russian constitutional court.

Mr. Putin would be granted – his fourth presidency and has been in Russian politics for two decades – the right to continue two more terms.
