The western U.S. state is fighting nearly 100 fires that have killed at least seven people, displaced thousands and destroyed entire cities. California, Washington state and Oregon have been the hardest hit by the fires, driven by heat waves and wind conditions. The Oregon governor said it could be “the biggest loss of human life and property” in fires in the state’s history. Nine other states in the region are also witnessing the fires.
