Elephant hunters in the Democratic Republic of Congo – BBC News

 



“About 30 to 40 thousand elephants die each year from their ivory in Africa. Less than half a million are left to die in Asia for their unwanted appetite and money. This is the first of a series of reports on chorizo, ivory trade and African elephants. correspondent Alastair Leithead went to the Democratic Republic of the northern Congo, toward Garamba – losing eight guards in one of the continent’s oldest national parks.
