A child was killed in a house explosion in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City (KKTV) – A child was killed in an explosion in a home in Oklahoma City Thursday morning.

CBS affiliate KWTV reports that a family of four lives in the house, located just south of Edmund in the Arkadia Lake District. The three surviving family members were taken to hospital. KWTV says the mother and son suffered from burn injuries, while the father’s injuries are serious but no further information has been provided on his condition.

The murdered child was identified as a girl under the age of 18.

The house was completely rattled by the blast, and a video clip from the scene showed debris strewn across the neighborhood.

People who commented on the Oklahoma City Fire Department tweets reported that they felt the eruption from more than 20 miles away, as a man said his house shook it and thought it was an earthquake.

The Oklahoma Corporation Committee is investigating whether the blast was connected to a pipeline. KWTV says that if there is no pipeline, the investigation will be handed over to the Fire Department.
