Some 40 universities in the UK have reported cases of Coronavirus, forcing thousands of students to self-isolate as the new term begins. Many students wonder why they were encouraged to leave home and pay for accommodation when they are doing a large part of their teaching online. Aberystwyth University is the latest to disrupt face-to-face teaching due to the pandemic. After a wave of complaints, the Scottish government has changed guidelines to allow students to return home if they wish, although they would have to isolate their entire home for 14 days.
