With performances by celebrities, advocates and world leaders, Great event will include short films highlighting the WHO and partnership initiatives that improve mental health around the world. The films have programs that cover countries from Jordan, Kenya, Paraguay, the Philippines and Ukraine. They cover a range of mental problems, including self-help and stress management, adolescent mental health, mental health and health workers, suicide prevention, and improving the quality of life of people with dementia and their carers. The winner of the best mental health film, a newly created category at the WHO Health for All Film Festival, will also be announced during the event.
“Mental health is a concern for all of us,” said Dévora Kestel, director of the WHO’s Department of Mental Health and Substance Use. “However, for several decades now, investing in mental health has been terribly lacking in what is needed in all countries of the world. COVID-19 painfully clarified the need to ensure that our mental health services are not only robust enough to be able to provide care in an alternative way when visits to health centers are no longer possible, but also to provide support to more people. The Great event he will point it out there is the way forward when there is a commitment to investment and if such investment has positive benefits that far outweigh public health. “
