Coronavirus: Spain reports over 800 dead – BBC News

Spain has reported 812 deaths related to coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Authorities say 6,398 more people have been infected.

Growth in hard-to-reach coronavirus cases appears to be slowing, the country’s foreign minister told the BBC.

Another 6,400 cases were confirmed on Monday, the lowest increase in new cases in a week. The death toll reached 7,340 after 812 new deaths.

A national blockade has been issued to mandate non-essential workers to stay home for two weeks.

Meanwhile, the doctor who runs the country’s response has been positive.

Recent Spanish data shows that the upward curve in the virus is leveling, according to Foreign Minister Arancha González.
