The news comes on Tuesday after the death of another Dalit woman, aged 19, after a group allegedly raped by men of high caste. The Dalits are at the bottom of the caste system. Despite protection laws, they suffer widespread discrimination. Both attacks took place in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. The first news protests erupted in the streets of the state.
