Omar al-Bashir: Sudan has accepted that the former president must confront the ICC – BBC News

Sudanese authorities have agreed that whatever the International Criminal Court (ICC) wants to appear there. The compromise came in peace talks between the Sudanese government and rebel groups in the Darfur region. The decision paves the way for former President Omar al-Bashir to be sent to The Hague to deal with allegations there. He is accused of genocide and war crimes in the 2003 conflict that killed some 300,000 people in Darfur. “Justice cannot be achieved if we do not heal the wounds,” said Sudanese government spokesman Mohammed Hassan Eltaish. “We agreed that all those who had arrest warrants against them would appear before the ICC. I say very clearly,” he added. Please subscribe HERE http://bit.ly/1rbfUog .
