Month of murder in Afghanistan – BBC News

The BBC found that an average of 74 men, women and children were killed every day in Afghanistan during August. The findings show that continued violence affects almost the entire country, as negotiations for US withdrawal after the 18-year war are in disarray. We confirmed 611 security incidents in which 2,307 people were killed. The Taliban and the Afghan government have questioned the validity of BBC-identified victim data. Most of the dead were fighters — including more fighters than the Taliban expected — but a fifth were civilians. Another 1,948 people were injured. Please subscribe HERE .
