Every year inevitably comes April 1, and every year, big and small businesses prepare gags to entertain their fans and confuse the meager journeys that must ascertain fiction facts. Every year, we round up the best ones to ensure no one misses out on quality hikers. The mood is a little more muted this year than it is for others, for the reason that we do not need to go in here, but there is still fun out there, so we are collecting it all.
We’ll update this list as more gags pop up – if you see any good ones we’ve missed, let us know in the comments.
Overwatch heroes roll their eyes
Let’s admit, it’s getting funnier with goose eyes. One of the most beloved media figures in Canada is the thick-eyed sock. A clever hamster in a heavily armed soft-ball with bare eyes? It’s a guaranteed winner.
It snows in GTA Online and RDR2
Not very funny, but it is a little strange and that’s good enough for me. GTA Online players can also collect and throw snowballs at each other, which is a nice break from the usual shootings and explosions.
Guild Wars 2 has giant cats
Sign up for the game this week and you’ll get a weird message from the King of All Cats, with a weird drink attached. Drink it, and small cats will move around you. Big cats will also spawn, luckily further afield. Very big cats. Meow.
Pong is now an RPG
Just kidding, this one is actually real, Pong Quest trades nostalgia for the old Atari 2600, with various dungeons and modes based on old games like Centipede and Breakout, and 50 types of balls that provide different abilities. Here’s the trailer.
Monster Boy developer announces DuckTales Quackshots
Surprise! We are happy to announce our new game project #DuckTales QuackShots together with our #MonsterBoyGame development partner Game Atelier! pic.twitter.com/iQfmnwLcPHApril 1, 2020
If you ever wonder why game reporters sometimes get annoyed by Fool’s April, here’s FDG Entertainment dropped straight Notice for DuckTales QuackShots, along with the property, then hit us 12 hours later with “I was I’m just kidding“The net effect could be positive if the response convinces Disney to move forward with the project, but even if you want to go into April Fool, ideally you should be sure that there is gag, And now we are sad that this does not exist.
No crisis
It’s been seven years since the last Crysis game and I’m not happy about that. So I felt a real flash of excitement when Crytek was updated crysis.com with a dazzling new image of Nomad (or maybe it was Psycho or Prophet – hard to say with the mask on). Unfortunately, the HTML source code contains the following meta keywords: Crysis, FPS, Crytek, Vidoe game, April Fool, start. Ah well.
Space thunder
War Thunder is a free-to-play fighting game for vehicles: tanks, armored cars, planes, things like that. Space Thunder is War Thunder – in space! And if you, like me, see that trailer and think, hell, I wish this was the right game, you’ll be glad to know that it is, by April 6th.
Picohot
From the creators of Superhot comes a fighting game where time moves only when you do Picohot, a playful demand based on Pico-8. To launch it, simultaneously press the Z and X keys, the down arrow to “chirp.exe”, press enter to load it, then scroll down with an untrue message until you see the download button. Once you’ve done that, select “picohot.exe” from the main menu to start the game or jump directly to whatever level you’ve completed.
Fully accurate Bug DLC error simulator
Insects are a fact of the video game life, so Landfall has accepted the inevitable DLC that adds 11 new bugs to the gameNot only that, but if you want it, you have to pay it. But with a good goal – all of the revenue earned from Landfall (a minimum of $ 2.50 per DLC sold) will go to Doctors Without Borders – and the free version arrives on April 2.
