Trump abruptly ends his ‘60 Minutes ’solo interview
President Donald Trump abruptly ended his solo interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes” and did not return due to the appearance he was supposed to record with Vice President Mike Pence, according to multiple sources who know what happened. After the camera team formed in the White House on Monday, Trump sat down with host Lesley Stahl for about 45 minutes before abruptly ending the conversation on Tuesday and told the network he thought they had enough material to use, according to two sources. CBS News did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment. The White House did not discuss the issue with CNN. The president later complained that Stahl did not have a mask and sent a short clip of himself while tweeting while he was in the White House. A person familiar with the situation told CNN that in the tweet, Stahl appears with his producers as soon as Trump finishes the interview. Stahl had not yet stepped back to put his personal belongings back on the mask. He had been wearing a mask since he entered the White House and before the conversation began. With about two weeks to go before the election, Trump has spent this week attacking the dispersal and resenting the representation that his campaign is doomed. The cut-off recordings made for the film “60 Minutes” seemed to be an extension of Trump’s apparent irritation as he entered the final days of the campaign. #CNN # News #Trump.
