Coronavirus: “Deaths for the Greatest Threat in Decades” as Increases and Worsens – BBC News

 



There has been another sharp increase in the number of deaths from coronaviruses in the UK – 563 in the last 24 hours. The government has said that it will be the biggest threat to the country in decades and worse. Most cases are in London, but NHS England has said that the threat is everywhere and more and more are the cause of concern for Midlands hospitals. Nearly one million people have applied for universal credit benefits in the last fortnight – the usual number nearly 10 times. Meanwhile, there have been further criticisms that the government has not acted quickly to increase Coronavirus testing.
