UK scientific advisers oppose evidence of closure in England – BBC News
Sir Patrick Vallance, chief scientific adviser, and Chris Whitty, England’s medical director, have been prosecuted by parliamentarians over evidence behind the latest closure in England. They were asked about some models that suggested there could be 4,000 deaths every day. One MP accused them of “scaring a lot of people”, but Sir Patrick said it was the worst case scenario. In the meantime, everyone who lives or works in Liverpool will be offered a quick test of Coronavirus, if successful, in a pilot program that will be rolled out in the UK.
