The San Jose Earthquakes vs LAFC game has been rescheduled for Wednesday November 4 at 11 PM ET

San Jose Earthquakes will have a chance to grab the MLS Cup Qualifiers berth in their regular season final at home after announcing their rescheduling of their Week 22 meeting with LAFC on Wednesday, November 4 at 11 PM EST (ESPN + in USA).

The match was originally scheduled for Sunday, November 1, but was postponed out of extreme caution after three LAFC players tested positive for COVID-19. Since the announcement on October 31, LAFC has announced that all other players and club members have returned to several negative results.

The SJ-LAFC match will be available off-market on ESPN + and broadcast locally on NBC Sports California (SJ), YouTubeTV, and KRCA 62.2 (LA).

Earthquakes currently ranks eighth and last in the playoffs in the West with 27 points in 21 matches (1.29 PPG) and would take a win over LAFC. A tie can also do the trick with some help.

An earthquake victory would ensure that they would finish with a minimum of 1.30 PPG, and prevented athletes following Vancouver Whitecaps (1.17 maximum PPG potential) and LA Galaxy (maximum PPG 1.23) from catching up if they win their final matches. San Jose could also win a tie as long as the Los Angeles Galaxy didn’t win against the Seattle Sounders on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, LAFC has already booked a spot in the post-season and are hoping to climb into the top four in the West, ensuring their first round match will be hosted.

After their meeting on Wednesday, Earthquakes and LAFC will each have one final match on AT&T Decision Day Sunday, November 8: The Earthquakes travel to meet the Seattle Sounders, while LAFC hosts the Portland Timbers (FS1, FOX Deportes).
