Stanley, Idaho – Several earthquakes struck near Stanley, central Idaho, Thursday night through Friday morning, in the latest series of earthquakes that shook the region.

According to the US Geological Survey, a 2.7-magnitude earthquake struck the region at 7:48 p.m. Thursday, followed about ten minutes later by a 2.6-magnitude earthquake. A stronger magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck at 3:54 AM, then a 2.5 earthquake at 4:55 AM

KTVB has not received any reports of damage. The area where the earthquakes occurred is about 14 miles northwest of Stanley in the mountains.

That area has been the site of several thousand earthquakes, most of them very small, since a 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Idaho on March 31, 2020, shook the Boise and can be felt in several neighboring states. The March earthquake was the second largest earthquake in the nation’s history.
