Yorkshire Ripper serial killer Peter Sutcliffe dies of coronary heart disease in hospital – BBC News
Peter Sutcliffe, a serial killer known as the Yorkshire Ripper, has died in hospital at the age of 74. He had coronaviruses. Sutcliff killed 13 women in Yorkshire and north-west England between 1975 and 1980. Seven other women were also convicted of attempted murder. West Yorkshire Police have again apologized for the way some senior officials spoke at the time about some of Sutcliffe’s victims, many of whom were sex workers. The main constable in power said that some language and attitudes at the time reflected a wider society that were wrong then and now wrong.
