The UK Home Secretary’s draft report on allegations of harassment concluded in the summer that Priti Patel had broken rules on the conduct of ministers, sources told the BBC. The Cabinet Office began an investigation into his conduct by Sir Philip Rutnam, the senior senior official in the Home Office, after leaving office in February. Sir Philip denounces the constructive dismissal – the alleged staff believed Mrs Patel had “created fear”. The Secretary of the Interior has always strongly denied allegations of harassment. If proven, can Priti Patel lose her job? Newsnight editor Nick Watt reports that Kirsty Wark is joined in the studio by shadow home office minister Holly Lynch, Conservative MP Dehenna Davison and FDA union general secretary Dave Penman. #Newsnight #BBCNews Newsnight is the BBC’s premier news and current affairs television program – with strong analysis, discussion, exclusivity and dialogue.
