The Children’s Museum invites the community to open a new exhibition, titled When the Earth Shakes. The exhibition will open on Saturday, December 12th, and begin a long journey of exploration from winter to spring where children and adults can delve into the science of earthquakes, plate tectonics and tsunamis, and learn what earthquake engineers are doing to make our world safer.

Immerse yourself in interactive earthquake exhibits. Jump up and down on a platform, change how difficult the jump is, and match the seismogram from a historic earthquake! Watch how continents move and remake as you spin the disk throughout geological history, from 600 million years ago to 200 million years in the future! Find out where earthquakes are occurring all over the world on its seismograph display in real time; You can see the hundreds that happen every week and how strong they are.
