Birmingham pub bombings: IRA suspects Hayes of apologizing – BBC News
An IRA bomber who admitted to being a member of the group responsible for the Birmingham pub bombings has apologized to himself. Twenty-one people were killed on November 21, 1974, when a bomb exploded in two pubs in the city center. Six innocent men were wrongly convicted. No one has ever been sued for one of the only losses in their lives in trouble. Michael Christopher Hayes said he felt sorry for the innocent. The 69-year-old, who lives south of Dublin, declined to say who planted the bombs on the Mulberry bush and the village bar, but said he was talking about giving “a participant’s point of view”.
