A grandmother from the UK has become the first person in the world to be given the Pfizer Covid-19 jab as part of a mass vaccination program. Margaret Keenan, who turns 91 next week, said the injection she received at GMT on December 8 at 06:31 was “the best gift for her birthday morning.” Seeing Maggie and so many other elderly people get vaccinated lifted the nation’s spirits. Away from the cameras, the day also brought new data that could provide fascinating information about the scientific properties of two vaccines and how they work.
