The UK and EU will continue to talk about “going beyond the term” – BBC News

Brexit trade talks continue to exceed the agreed deadline on Sunday 13 December – after the UK and EU agreed that negotiators should “do more” in seeking an agreement. The main issues remain unresolved, but in a phone call, Boris Johnson and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen agreed to continue negotiations without setting a new deadline. However, Johnson said the two sides are still “very far apart” on key issues. Business leaders have again called on Boris Johnson not to leave a trade deal with the EU, saying it would be a “catastrophe” for employment, supermarket supply chains and agriculture.
