Palestinian family with its checkpoint – BBC News
How is President Trump’s intention to settle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the ground?
The BBC’s Middle East correspondent Tom Bateman visited two homes in the occupied West Bank; starting with a Palestinian family, the house is housed in an unfinished enclave within an Israeli settlement.
Israel has said it wants to formally retain all settlements in the West Bank based on President Trump’s plan.
The US proposals have been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the view of a state is unacceptable.
About 600,000 Jews live in Israel in 140 homes built in 1967 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem of Israel.
The settlements are considered by international law to be legal, although Israel is debating it.
