Award-winning television cameraman dies | Foreman

The TV industry mourns the loss of award-winning cameraman Troy Gordon.

Mr. Gordon has been a celebrity crew member on Australian reality TV shows Survivor and Married At First Sight, and more recently the British and German versions of I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here.

Colleagues on social media used to pay tribute to the lighting photographer in Brisbane, who died suddenly.

“So heartbreaking, we had so many adventures together,” Lili Mackinnon said, “He must have had a lot to come, so sad.”

Mark “Aussie Tarzan” Herlaar, a contestant in Australian Survivor in 2017 and 2020 and “Kiosk Kev” in the film I’m a Celebrity in Britain, said that Mr. Gordon was a “great man”.

“Brother RIP, I love your company and friendship, it was great to know and work with you … I will keep looking for your happy smile and great sense of humor.

He wrote on Instagram, “Rest easy. Know you are truly missing.”

Mr. Gordon started the television industry in 1985 and became a respected news photographer, covering major events including the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, the 1995 Kobe earthquake, and the Gulf War in 1990.

He has also filmed footage at the US Academy Awards and World Swimming Championships and has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Gold Stand.

Gordon, who started his own company TRG Vision in Brisbane in 2005, has worked on the British show I’m a Celebrity since 2017, but was said to have been unable to continue the show this year as he moved to Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.
