The earthquake struck Tizpur in Assam for the second time this month

The National Seismology Center said a 3.0-magnitude earthquake jolted Tezpur in Assam on Thursday morning.

In a tweet, earlier this morning, the National Seismology Center reported that a magnitude 3.0 earthquake occurred in Tizpur, Assam at around 7 am.

The tremors occurred at a depth of 5 km. No casualties were reported so far. More details await.

Earlier this month, an earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale struck Tizpur in the Suntipur district of Assam on Saturday, the National Center of Seismology (NCS) reported.

The tremors struck at a depth of 10 km at 10:46 am.

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Alwar district of Rajasthan in December as well, according to the National Seismology Center. “A moderately strong 4.2 earthquake hits Alwar in Rajasthan and tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR,” the National Seismology Center said. She added that the earthquake occurred at 11.46 pm at a depth of five kilometers. The earthquake was felt in Delhi, in the National Capital Region, which caused panic among citizens. There was no immediate report of damage to life or property. The earthquake was felt in Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and Noida, according to SkyMate Weather.
