Investigators investigating the U.S. Capitol incidents were planned

Evidence found so far, including weapons and tactics seen in the surveillance video, suggests a level of planning that investigators believe was an out-of-control attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to a federal law enforcement official. Among the evidence the FBI is investigating is that on the ellipse, outside the White House, some participants in the Trump rally left the event early, possibly to recover items that would have been used in the Capitol attack. A team of investigators and prosecutors is also focused on the aspect of command and control of the attack, examining travel and communications records to determine if they can build a similar case to the counter-terrorism investigation, the official said.
