Paul “Earthquake” Moore is gone, fighting in the final round of his cancer bout. His commitment to his community included his election to the board of directors of Southwest Community Development Corp. Where he served as president for the past eight years.

Paul, a steadfast man in the family, was a loyal member of the New Baptist Church of the Missionary Fellowship on Woodland Avenue and 70th Street where he served as assistant minister.

Paul served in the Palestinian Authority National Guard for 27 years with two years of active service. He is the winner of the 2011 Wrice-Campbell Neighborhood Safety Award.

Paul is best known for his community projects: The 24-Hour Food-A-Thon: His annual Turkey-famous project, Run & Giveaway; Unmatched “Community Claus” distributes toys along Woodland Avenue on vacation; Peace Weekend program to reduce violence; And “summer camp” to inculcate strong values ​​in youth.
