Spain, one of the countries most affected by coronavirus, is beginning to alleviate drastic blockages that have slowed its economy.

People in manufacturing, construction and services are allowed to return to work, but must comply with strict safety regulations.

The rest of the population still needs to be home.

Almost 17,500 people in Covid-19 have died in Spain, but the rate of new infections has dropped.

Italy has been the hardest country in Europe, with almost 19,900 deaths. A narrow range of companies will resume operations on Tuesday.
