A 4.2-magnitude earthquake near Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico, was reported just 24 minutes ago by the Mexican National Seismic Service (SSN), which is the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in Mexico. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers below the epicenter just after midnight on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 12:48 AM local time. The exact size, focus and depth of an earthquake may be reviewed within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or when other agencies release their report. Loretto BCS / Moderate Vibration (MMI V): I was almost awake when I felt the bed vibrate and heard the sounds of the cabinet doors. In my sleeping fog I thought it was gusting winds since last night it was gale, but then I realized all the doors and windows were closed. It appears to last 10-15 seconds. My wife was on the ground floor of our house and she didn’t feel that way. I was in a bedroom on the second floor.
