New Delhi: Municipal bodies notified Delhi High Court that they are complying with judicial orders and notifications of the Delhi government regarding ensuring seismic stability of buildings in the city. The submission by the three municipal corporations and the New Delhi Municipal Council came in response to a plea seeking contempt action against them, the AAP government and the Delhi Development Authority alleging that they did not comply with court orders to make the capital ready for any major earthquake. Municipal bodies of North, South and East Delhi allege in their responses to the contempt petition, by attorney Arbet Bhargava, that public notices have been issued to the general public to obtain a structural audit of their buildings by registered structural engineers. In their nearly identical testimonies, the companies also said that notifications were issued for all high-risk buildings to file structural audit reports. PTI.
