Ghana has been the first recipient of Covid-19 vaccine doses distributed by Covax-19 vaccine sharing initiatives. A plane carrying 600,000 doses of the AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccine landed in the capital Accra on Wednesday. The Covax scheme aims to reduce the distribution between rich countries and poor countries that cannot afford to buy doses.
