A magnitude 4.9 earthquake strikes near Lamparene, Moyne Ouji, Gabon

4.9 Earthquake March 6 6:08 pm (GMT +1)

The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that a magnitude 4.9 earthquake occurred just 15 minutes earlier 47 kilometers south of Lambarini, Gabon, and the earthquake struck 10 kilometers below the epicenter near Lambarene, Moyne Ugoi, Gabon. Early in the evening of Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 6:08 PM local time. The exact size, epicenter, and depth of the earthquake can be reviewed within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and improve their calculations, or when other agencies release their reports. The Seismological Center (EMSC) which recorded the earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3, based on the preliminary seismic data, the earthquake should not have caused any major damage, but perhaps many people felt it as a slight shaking in the epicenter area. Weak vibration was probably felt at Fogamo (population 5,600) located 40 km from the epicenter, and Lamparini (extrusion 20,700) at 47 km. Lebamba, Gabon (178.2 km southeast of the epicenter) [Map] / Weak vibration (MMI III): I have 6 friends who were in Lebamba who just wrote to me to say they felt it. I wasn’t there myself, but one friend from California said it felt like 3.

Libreville, Gabon / Mild tremor (MMI IV) / Horizontal swing (side) / 2-5 seconds: I was taking a nap when I felt my bed shaking. It woke me up a few seconds later, my bed and windows were shaking again.
