The UK government is facing political pressure due to a lack of protective clothing and other equipment for primary health and care workers. Ministers have denied any involvement in an EU scheme to secure equipment supplies for political reasons.
Ministers also have difficult problems with the tests being carried out on people who have coronaviruses. It aims to conduct 100,000 tests by the end of April. It’s not realistic at all. The current level of testing is part of that figure.
