Ireland uses seismic technology to monitor general movements during closure

Irish authorities are closely monitoring public movements during the closure thanks to the latest seismic technology.

The data collected from the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies’ National Seismic Network is used to provide insight into the number of visits and traffic recorded across Ireland.

The numbers collected so far are a cause for concern to the chief physician, Dr. Tony Holohan.

Speaking at a press conference last week, Dr. Hollowan highlighted data indicating increased traffic noise and general echo across the country.

Taoiseach is set to announce whether the restrictions will be partially lifted before the May 5 deadline.

Meanwhile, the authorities continue to monitor movements with Dr. Holohan in the past about clear information about the number of people walking, driving or using public transportation via Apple smartphones and other Android devices.

Any noticeable increase in numbers is likely to lead to a prolonged period of severe restrictions.
