Early morning earthquake shakes Eureka local news

Eureka residents may have felt a slight bombardment early this morning (April 20).

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 2.4 earthquake southeast of Eureka. The US Geological Survey said the earthquake struck at 2:38 am

There was no word of damage to the city, according to the US Geological Survey website.

The earthquake occurred south of I-44 and Route 66 State Park and west of Meramec River. The United States Geological Survey stated that it is 10.56 miles deep.

Scott Barthelmas, Eureka District fire protection media officer, said the area had not received any calls related to the earthquake.
