Nepal earthquake: Everest plains dead alive – BBC News

 



Five years ago on April 25, a devastating earthquake struck Nepal, shaking the entire country. More than 8,000 people were killed and hundreds of thousands of homes were lost.

BBC journalist Aamir Peerzada was making a documentary film on the Khumbu glacier on Mount Everest when the quake struck. He set fire to several camps in Everest base camp, killing about 22 people and injuring dozens more.

This is the story of his survival.
