A small earthquake shakes nerves in Oakland Hills; “4 Seconds of Pure Anxiety” – CBS San Francisco

Auckland (CBSSF) – The early Wednesday morning earthquake may have been of minor magnitude, but its epicenter in a quiet neighborhood near Lake Timescal in Auckland caused it to be felt widely by locals who had woken up.

According to the US Geological Survey, the 2.8-magnitude earthquake occurred at 12:18 a.m. and had its epicenter along the Contra Costa Road. This is the second small earthquake to hit the neighborhood this week.

The US Geological Survey said hundreds of residents felt the quake in Oakland, Berkeley and Orinda. While he was too young to cause any harm, he shook the locals who took to social media.
